pucker-free applique

I like  to make appliqued quilts ,i find they are the easiest to master but some time you can have a pucker and there is away to have a pucker free applique place stabilizer beneath the foundation or if you are hand appliqueing put the stabilizer under your pattern piece that your going to attach to your foundation then do your applique with out worry.
I hope this helps the beginner or the seasoned sew-er.

Mothers day

Mothers day will be here before you realize it,may i give you some suggestion.
If your mom like to sew she might like a new sewing box, maybe some fabric for her stash,
Now if she like to garden a flat of her favorite flowers,or some new gardening tools.
or just think about what she is interested in mom are not hard to please they just want to know you pay attention to them when they hint : )

Bobbin 's

I'm in the process of updating my sewing room and i found a bobbin winder as you know it is a big hassle to stop in the middle of sewing to refill your bobbin this prevents that process its a stand alone machine, its compact for easy storage, you can use battery's or electricity .fills any bobbin with a center hole.

Jeans

           Blessed day to all.

Don't throw way you old jean's they can be uses for so many other things.

Cut them off at the knee and make shorts
cut the good parts into squares for quilts.
you can make small pocket purse's.
I will be posting pictures i had to order a cord for my camera.
An other tip if  you have  ever had trouble keeping your bed sheets tight use a safety pin and pin the corner of your bottom sheet, don't do this on a child bed.

My Doggies Bed

Our Mollie loves her new bed i made for her :)
This is a good way to recycle  old drapes,
1.Size 56x84
2.cut away the top rod holder
3fold in half
sew around leaving an opening for batting, the close the opening by hand (i used snaps so i could get the batting out so i can launder the bed)
measure for the bottom of the bed this depends on what size you pet is,measure 12in from the side and run a tack seam around the bed ,take the bed to you machine and resew the seam.
